You can see there is a large stock of properties for sale under £100,000, these are generally the terraced houses around the town centre.
If you are not from the town, knowing Hartlepool’s good areas to buy can be tricky without living here. Here’s a quick overview.
Around the town centre you will find all the lower priced houses (under £50K), like the 2-bed terraces. Some of these areas are very deprived, with many houses boarded up. We would only advise buying these types of properties for buy-to-lets if you have experience with DSS tenants.
The best place for apartments is Hartlepool Marina, here you will find some 1-4 bed apartments – some with amazing marina views. Prices start at around £80K for a 1 bed.
Families generally prefer to live away from the town centre on modern housing estates.
Hartlepool Modern Housing Estates

House of Multiple occupancy (HMOs) are very popular for investors. Large terraced houses are bought around the town centre and rooms let out individually. A large terrace on Park road can be bought for around £145K with 4 double bedrooms being let out at £380/mth (all bills included).
